Holding to Truth

holding to truth in love for the building up of the Body of Christ

About

Welcome to Holding to Truth in Love!

Hi, my name is Tom Smith and I love the Lord Jesus! I also love the Bible—God’s living word. Since the Bible has brought me so much joy and blessing, I felt I had to find a way to share this great benefit with others who also are seeking to know the Lord and His word.

So in March 2011, I started this blog, now called “Holding to Truth in Love.” The title expresses God’s desire expressed in Paul’s word in Ephesians 4:15, “But holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head Christ.” My desire expressed in this blog is that we would not merely believe God’s word to be true, but be actively engaged in a daily practice of holding to all the real things revealed there. In Greek it literally means “truthing it.”

“We may grow up into Him” indicates that “holding to truth” isn’t something just done by yourself. We need others who would hold to the truth with us. So in this blog, I hope to engage others like yourself in “truthing it in love” so that we can encourage one another to grow up into Christ for the building up of His Body, the church.

  1. amen, brother, I thoroughly enjoyed your approach to life and your enjoyment of the Lord! What a rich ministry we have – the ministry of the new covenant! And what a rich heritage with have! It’s good to dive in, let the word dwell in us richly, saturate us, permeate us, and even overflow from us!

  2. Great name for your blog. Glad to see you got your own domain too.

    1. Clark,

I’m glad to have the encouragement from other bloggers like you and Joe. It makes the development process more enjoyable and less of a struggle. I thought that a shorter name would be easier to remember and good to match with the domain name. Joe recommended a few theme options and as you can see I’ve made a switch.

I’m always interested in learning something more, bit by bit. Hopefully I can be an encouragement to others who would also like to learn to blog.

      Much grace to you,

      Tom

Hello Tom, nice to meet you ^ ^
My name is Luan, I am Vietnamese, 20 years old.
Your videos on Youtube leads me to this blog. Everything you said about Mingled Spirit and The Economy of God are very impressive 🙂
I were touched by the Lord and stayed in Christianity for 2 years but now I realize that I couldn’t know these mysterious and wonderful things if I still stay in the religion.
Last years I always thought that there is only the one Holy Spirit of God, but now according to the ministry of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee we recognize that we have a spirit, too. Unfortunately, this spirit was closed and negated by sin and we need the dispensing of God to revive our spirit and be mingled with His Spirit.
The Economy of God is definitely the mingling between divinity and humanity, between God and man in the Spirit 🙂

Do you know the song “God’ Eternal Economy”? My brothers and I always sing it in the conference in the meeting hall when gathering together ^.^
    Lyrics: ” God’s eternal economy
Is to make man the same as He is…”
